Parking is now available in the new back parking lot located off Dousman Street. We encourage families to park there to gain perspective on what to expect for drop-off and pick-up on the first day of school.

Open House is a wonderful opportunity for families to:

• Meet your teacher and drop off school supplies.
• Take a family photo for our ongoing "Mural of Portraits" wall! We want to capture our amazing community, and we send a big appreciation to our Parent Volunteer who will be taking the photographs.
• Complete important forms, such as Emergency Cards and Free & Reduced Lunch Applications.
• Submit birth certificates for verification.
• Join the PTO and sign up to volunteer for events like Popcorn Fridays, Book Fairs, and Fundraising.
• Purchase Chappell Merch and Ice Cream (please note: cash or check only).

Chappell Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

Families with current students can access the Parent Portal now to complete the Annual Updates process.
This is your opportunity to update the information we have on file for you and your student(s) such as address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, allergies and health conditions. This helps us prepare for the school year and have the most up-to-date information on file. You will also be able to register any new students who are not currently attending a GBAPS school.

If your child requires medication during school hours, please follow these required steps:

• A Medication Authorization Form is required for ALL medications administered at school, including over-the-counter medications such as pain relievers, inhalers and cough drops. A new form is required each school year. 
• Prescription medications require a physician signature on the Medication Authorization Form. School staff may not administer any medication unless we have a completed form on file.
• Completed forms can be dropped off in the office or faxed to 920-492-5566.
• An adult must personally deliver medication to the school office in its original, pharmacy-labeled container.

Our first Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting of the 2026–2027 school year will take place on September 14th.

Whether you are a new family or a returning parent, your voice matters! Attending a PTO meeting is a fantastic way to stay informed, connect with fellow parents, and actively support our school. No long-term commitment required—come as you are, listen in, share your ideas, or simply say hello. Together, we can make this an incredible school year for our kids!

Dear Chappell Families,

At Chappell Elementary, every minute of learning counts. Consistent attendance directly impacts your child's academic growth, well-being, and sense of belonging. Even missing a few minutes here and there adds up to lost learning time over the school year. To support student success, our goal is for every student to miss no more than 10 days of school this year.

Please review the following guidelines regarding daily schedules, early dismissals, and transportation to help keep our school day running smoothly:

Morning Arrival

8:30 a.m. – Outdoor supervision begins. Please do not drop off students before this time, as staff are not available to ensure safety.
8:37 a.m. – Doors open and the morning bell rings.
8:42 a.m. – Tardy bell rings. Any student arriving after 8:42 a.m. is considered tardy and must be signed in at the front office by an adult.
 

Dismissal & End of Day

3:35 p.m. – Dismissal bell. Instruction continues right up until dismissal time.
2:30 p.m. Cutoff: To prevent class disruptions during key learning time, students cannot be dismissed after 2:30 p.m. unless leaving for a medical or dental appointment. Please schedule non-urgent appointments outside school hours (refer to the 2026–2027 GBAPS District Calendar for planning).
 

Early Pickups & Appointments

Advance Notice: Please send a Toddle message to your child’s teacher or leave a voicemail at 920-492-2630 in the morning. This gives the teacher time to prepare any missed school work.
Office Check-In: Students will only be called to the front office once you arrive in person. Please have a valid photo ID ready.
Documentation: Bring a note from the doctor or dentist upon return so the absence can be officially excused.
 

Transportation Changes

Any last-minute transportation changes must be called in to the front office before 3:00 p.m. to ensure we can relay the instructions to the teacher and student prior to dismissal.

Free & Reduced Meal Program

Applications should be returned before or at the start of the year and anytime there is a change in the household size or income. All families are encouraged to fill out and return the application. Even if your child attends a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school and receives breakfast and lunch at no cost, it is critical that you fill out the Free & Reduced Price School Meals application. 
**NEW: SNAP benefits have been greatly reduced - if you have qualified for automatic free meals in the past and did not this year, please apply on this application immediately. Students who qualify for free meal benefits can request to have school fees waived. Free & Reduced-Price Meal information is used to determine funding from various programs for schools. Completing this form, even if you opt not to have your child receive free or reduced-price meals, can make a significant difference in the amount of available funding for your child’s classroom. The information in this application is kept confidential and private. You may fill out a paper form or the online application through the Campus Portal: https://greenbaywi.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/greenbay.jsp.

Community Eligibility Provision

In July 2026, the Green Bay Area Public School District was approved for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This is programming that provides breakfast and lunch at no cost to all Chappell students.

Households should complete a Free & Reduced-Price Meal Benefits application to waive school fees and support educational funding for the classroom and school. The status of a CEP school is not the same as each student's individual free or reduced-price eligibility status.
 
Students must choose a complete breakfast and lunch to receive meals at no cost. Those who choose a milk-only or any a la carte items will be charged. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture federal guidelines, a complete breakfast and lunch consists of choosing at least ½ cup of fruits or vegetables with the meal. Meals without fruits or vegetables will be charged at a la carte prices.
 
Please note that any balances (positive or negative) on a child’s Food Service account remain. Contact the Food Service Department at your school or the main department line at (920) 391-2565 or email Food Service with questions. 

You can easily view information about what is on our school menu for breakfast and lunch each day by using the Nutrislice mobile app or by visiting https://gbaps.nutrislice.com/

To ensure the safety of all our students, including those with food allergies, food items will NOT be permitted in the building, even if they are individually pre-packaged or store bought. Each week, we will make a school announcement with the names of students who have birthdays that week!

If you would still like to send something to the class for your student's birthday, great non-food alternatives include stickers, fun pencils, or small trinket toys.

Every Friday, we sell bags of freshly popped popcorn made by our fantastic PTO parents.
Please remember the following:

• Each bag costs 50 cents.
• Orders are due by 9: 00 a.m. therefore your student must be on time to purchase popcorn
• Additional bags can be purchased in the office at the end of the day, subject to availability

Join the Popcorn Friday Crew

The PTO is in search of 2–3 parent volunteers to help pop popcorn on Friday mornings from 8:45 AM to 11:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to support your student's school, meet other parents, and bring some Friday fun to our students!

The bike rack is located near door #2. Students riding their bike to school will line up alongside 4k students and students riding the bus and daycare vans at door # 2.

Toddle is our primary app for staying connected with our school families. With Toddle, you can view and celebrate your child’s learning moments in real time, communicate directly with teachers, and receive important school updates.

Because student report cards are shared electronically through Toddle, having active access to the app is essential.

New families can download the app now, and we can help complete the setup at Open House.
